What is cocopeat?

The names “cocopeat” and “coco coir” are interchangeable. These two materials are thought to be appropriate for use as plant substrates. Coconut husks are used to make coco peat, while the natural fibers of coconuts are used to make coco coir. Coco peat is light, easy to handle and can even be reused for up to 4 years. It can be used as a potting mix, an additive to soil, or a stand-alone hydroponic growing medium. Additionally, compared to alternative substrates like peat moss, coco coir is less likely to contract, giving plants better drainage and aeration.
